A note on care of real wood products

Wood is an organic material. Even after being changed into a useable item, wood will move with time and the influences of the surrounding environment. Luckily, with proper construction techniques, and follow-on care, the items produced at Tree to Table Creations will last the lifetime of the user. Please read below for more information.

Our Method

At Tree to Table Creations we build each product with a process meant to enable a lifetime of enjoyment. Wood selection, grain direction, and construction techniques are all considered to allow each product to fulfill its purpose for as long as proper care is taken.

Board care. It’s simple and takes little to no time.

-Avoid placing in standing water for long periods of time. Wood will soak up water which, in turn, will cause it to warp in unpredictable ways.

-Do not place in the dishwasher. The chemicals used in detergents and the drying process will severely damage the structure of the wood.

-Hand wash with soap and water and either towel or air dry.

-As needed, treat with food-safe penetrating oil. We at Tree to Table Creations use the Howards brand of Cutting Board and Butcher Block lines of penetrating oils and conditioners.

- Avoid film finishes such as polyurethanes, lacquer, or any top coats.
